I have coached dozens of leaders across different software companies, supported teams of hundreds of engineers, and evolved culture and management practices in companies small and large.

My Approach

Coaching experienced engineering leaders requires a deep understanding of the context in which they operate. Understanding the particulars of your environment is the key to working through dilemmas and challenges together. I work with executives to improve their understanding of the constraints and degrees of freedom they experience and, together, come up with practical paths for them to try. I relentlessly focus on ways leaders can change their behavior and language to serve their teams better. I focus on systemic changes they can drive, especially management practices, organizational design, and behavior. I also help leaders refine their communication techniques and enable them to bridge across functions.

In my experience, for coaching to be effective you need a coach who’s breadth and depth of expertise you’re going to find compelling, has a deep chest of tools to draw on to equip you and, most importantly, can make you actually become (painfully) self aware and help you internalize lasting change.
